Kirchheim Job Information Fair 2019

On 7 February 2019, the annual occupational information fair for pupils took place in the Kirchheimer Stadthalle. Also in this year the company Holder with two trainees and two technically experienced coworkers, who are at the same time also trainers, was present as an exhibitor.

The aim of this trade fair visit was to bring the apprenticeship occupation of surface coater closer to the pupils and to clarify what exactly lies behind the job description.

Our trainees explained the individual coating steps to the interested visitors using a practical example. Small components were dipped into three different basins to illustrate how important the coating is for optical improvement and also for corrosion protection.

During the three-year apprenticeship as a surface coater, students learn everything about chemical processes, the treatment of metals and environmental protection. The content of the training includes, for example, how a coating bath is prepared and how the perfect quality can be tested using chemical samples in the company’s own laboratory.

How all this works exactly is already shown in the first year of training by the trainer directly at Holder. The theoretical basics are taught in block lessons at the vocational school in Schwäbisch-Gmünd.

After three years of training, the chances for further training are very good. This is because further training can be followed to become a master electroplater or electroplating technician. Holder will be happy to support your former trainees in this.
